National finalists announced for the 2015 Nursery & Garden Awards

In the twenty-first year of the Nursery & Garden Awards, entrants have incorporated into their submissions a response which aligned to international criteria and participation in a sustainable judging process

The program itself has upheld the enduring qualities of credibility and fairness and included new online business skills essential for the SME business environment including requiring entrants to delve into the world of video creation. All entrants in the 2015 program are congratulated for their participation and drive to improve parallel with the changing face of business.

"The changes made to this year's awards program have certainly been demanding on entrants. It's those demands however, that work towards the goals of educating and improving our industry. And now it's time to celebrate and recognise those individuals and organisations excelling in the nursery and garden industry, says Mike Mehigan, President of Nursery & Garden Industry Australia.

"We should also recognise and congratulate all the organisations and individuals in this year's program for embracing the changes and taking on the new challenges required by this year's changes."

National finalists in the Group 1 categories of retailers and production nurseries together with finalists for the Heather Rumsey Young Leader award will shortly receive details of the second round of judging which is scheduled for February and March 2015 respectively.

The winners for all categories will be announced at the industry's night of nights on 24 March 2014 at the award winning Fenix Restaurant in Richmond, VIC. Hosted by Industry's good time gardener and social superhero, Matthew Carroll this year's Gala Dinner will be a party to honour the best in 2015 and to remember the greats for the 20 years before.

Tickets for the 2015 Nursery & Garden Industry dinner are on sale now at www.ngia.com.au.

All national category winners of the 2015 Nursery & Garden Awards receive a prize oftwo tickets to the VIP event of the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. The prize ticket to the Garden State Cocktail Reception held on the evening of 25March 2014, will give National Winners behind the scenes access to the designers of the show gardens, opportunity to mingle with green industry colleagues and time to show support for the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.

It is with the great support of our sponsors that this program is able to recognise the industry's best and we thank them for their continued support. Congratulations to all the finalists.
