Based in Melbourne, Alfresco Gardenware is a wholesale supplier of garden décor items to the nursery/hardware/giftware industry. With around 2,000 customers all over Australia and on average 500 different product lines, we are one of the biggest suppliers to the independent sector.

Alfresco commenced business in 2005 and is owned by Julia Longmuir. Growth has been steady but now Alfresco is experiencing very strong sales and expects this trend to continue.

As part of their growth they now need to appoint a sales representative.

The role is a mixture of sales and customer service. Alfresco believes it is a full-time role, however, would consider hiring someone part-time. It will be based in Sydney but include supporting regional NSW, so working both from home and on the road.

The successful candidate will need to develop the profile and sales of Alfresco in the Sydney/NSW marketplace.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Team player but also able to work autonomously
  • Prior sales experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong ability to take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
  • Outgoing personality
  • Service mentality, able to separate themselves in frustrating situations and guide customer to efficient solutions
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed and independent way
  • Competent technology/computer skills

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Representing the Alfresco brand in the nominated markets
  • Customer account screening and management     
  • Must be available to attend industry events, e.g., trade days, gift fairs, etc.
  • Support customer service with customer relationships/ongoing business matters
  • Support the development of budgets and strategic planning
  • Assist with the development of the sales team and new appointments if necessary
